video log视频日志定义的重心是日志，本质上和文字日记，日记是一个形式，是用视频的形式承载日志的内容。

二、video of log－日志视频

video of log日志视频定义则是更在意视频，日志内容为视频服务，vlog只是众多风格视频其中的一款形式，以日常记录为内容的视频。

2006年10月，一则来自意大利的消息说，由移动意大利“3”公司与Mobaila公司合作推出的创新性移动视频博务“MyVideoBlog”，已经在意大利成为一项成功的新应用。而与此同时，在互联网上，一种新兴的博客形式也开始逐渐取代以往传统的文字博客，并迅速受到了网民们的热捧，它便是视频博客—vLOG。

2009年vlog被收录进韦氏大词典。

2012年，上出现了条vlog。截至2018年01月19日，平台上每个小时就会诞生2000条vlog作品。
